eLearning Team challenge this year’s CLT Conference
Members of the eLearning Team will be attending and presenting at this year’s University of Brighton CLT Learning and Teaching Conference, taking place on Friday 10 July.
There is a strong eLearning theme to this year’s event, with Dr. Neil Ringan from Manchester Metropolitan University delivering a keynote on the subject and focusing on how to engage both staff and students.
Highlights on the programme from the eLearning Team include: a look at the student VLE journey at University of Brighton (Katie Piatt and Ed Bending); guidance and best practice on how to transition from paper to ePortfolios (Fiona MacNeill, Susanne Simmons, Christine Watson); using Lync for learning and teaching (Craig Wakefield), and a look forward to the “classroom of the future” (Stan Stanier, Jason Bailey and Barbara Newland).
In addition to these breakout sessions the eLearning Team will be running an app-based game for delegates during the lunch break. If you are attending the event we encourage you to take part. It should take around 10-15 minutes and you can work in a team. The free app you need to download is ‘Actionbound’. As well as demonstrating its potential as a location based learning tool we hope the challenge will be fun!
Once you have the app on your device you will need to scan the following code to start the challenge. This will be activated on the day. You will be presented with missions, questions and location coordinates. The theme of the game is the history of broadcasting.
