WHERE: Curriculum Centre (part of the Open Learning Centre), Checkland C400, Falmer campus
The School of Education Curriculum Centre has again been chosen to host a collection from the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY). IBBY is a non-profit organization which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.
We have 52 books from the IBBY Honour List 2016 on display until mid-January 2017. These are a set of illustrated children’s books which have been carefully chosen as the best example of a recently published book from each IBBY member country around the world. Hosting this collection represents a unique opportunity for staff and students to view and handle a diverse and exciting set of children’s books published in less familiar countries such as Armenia, Haiti, Palestine, Iceland, Venezuela and United Arab Emirates, as well as those from more familiar countries such as Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Canada.
The books will be on display for anyone to view and handle (with care) in the Curriculum Centre which is open Mon-Thurs 8:30am-5:30pm and Fri 8:30am-5pm. Although please be aware that the books are being used on Thursday 12th Jan for a teaching session between 1-3pm so will not be on display during this time.
