Exhibition Histories & Digital Futures
Workshop with Sarah Victoria Turner, Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art

To celebrate the Centre for Design History’s new Museums, Archives and Exhibitions research strand, and the inaugural term of the CDH’s Exhibition Histories reading group, we are pleased to welcome Sarah Victoria Turner, Deputy Director for Research at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, to the University of Brighton.

In this afternoon workshop, Sarah will present her recent pioneering work on the intersections of exhibition histories and digital practices with a focus on the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition: A Chronicle, 1769-2018 and the forthcoming “London, Asia, Exhibition, Histories” special issue of British Art Studies. The workshop will also include an interactive seminar on the methodologies of exhibition histories, a report on the central themes that have emerged from the Exhibition Histories reading group so far, and an introduction to some of the funding opportunities offered by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.
