New trading room
The University of Brighton is investing in a brand new financial trading room. Opening in September 2015, the revamped facilities will use state-of-the-art commercial software to help finance students build real-world skills and conduct important research.
Streaming up-to-the-minute data from Thomson-Reuters Eikon, the new trading room allows students to apply what they learn to real events and real companies.
The Rotman Interactive Trader application simulates a stock exchange allowing students to transact financial securities. Simulated case studies provide hands-on experience, giving a feel for ‘real’ investment decisions and how to deal responsibly with financial and economic market data.
Guest traders will be invited to discuss curriculum topics, pass on their trading experience and supervise trading sessions.
