Textiles student Harriet Silverson, along with classmate Alice Clubb, has been awarded a Framework Knitters bursary for yarn for her final collection – and Harriet is going to create a series of playful samples that explore the crossover of art, emotion, and knitted textile design.
“After college I was working in Savile Row, while I was there, I became interested in suiting cloth. I then decided to leave to study textile design, while knowing I wanted to specialise in weave. The best aspect of my course was the full technical cover, ensuring that there was always a technician in the studio to assist you and making sure you where able to get on with your work.” Read More

Following the award of a £3,000 bursary for Textiles Design with Business Studies BA(Hons) student Lauren Rowell, the Framework Knitting Company praised students and staff at the University of Brighton.
“I chose textiles as there is more variety on what it can be used for – not only fashion. The great thing about Brighton is that you can experiment and explore different textile specialisms, which help you choose what you are most interested in- mine being print design.”
