University of Brighton Sport Journalism students cover major sporting action at Brighton Racecourse and The Amex

As part of their Professional Practice module, a group of 15 Sport Journalism students reporters covered Brighton & Hove Albion Women’s 2-1 loss to Everton from the press box at The Amex. Twelve hours later, they travelled to Brighton Racecourse to report on the opening day of the spring racing season.

Sport Journalism MA course leader, Owen Evans said: “Reporting live from the action is an integral part of our programme. All the skills learned in the Newsroom are tested among professional athletes, jockeys, trainers and managers. It’s always rewarding to see our students perform in that pressure.

“A big thank you to the media teams at Brighton and Hove Albion and Brighton Racecourse for helping us provide this opportunity. Our trainees enjoy every minute of these experiences.”
