Performance as Research workshop

A free interactive workshop for all Brighton PhD students is taking place at Grand Parade on 5 April 2019. A TECHNE sponsored conflux training interactive workshop is being held at Grand Parade on 5 April 2019.

Morning sessions include an Introduction to Embodied Audiovisual Methods with Ben Spatz (Huddersfield), Workshopping Galathea with Andy Kesson (Roehampton) and Emma Frankland, A collective improvisation and performance in response to the morning workshops lead by Sarah Grange and Ellan Parry (Brighton PhD students).

After lunch there will be a choice of sessions lead by Sarah Clifford, (Place-based Performance) Jess Moriarty (Auto-ethnography as Performance and Research), Claire McManus (Gender, Bodies, Performance) and Kate Aughterson (Texts and Bodies: The Restoration Stage).  The keynote speaker will be Neil Bartlett (director, author and performer) ‘A Brief History of My Body in Performance.’

After dinner there will be experimental poetry performances by contemporary Greek poets including Patricia Kolaiti.  The day will be an excellent opportunity for networking.
