A group of BA Hons Illustration students have collaborated with the University of Brighton Design Archive to curate an exhibition from their collection of the work of FHK Henrion.
The show was a means to facilitate curatorial experience for the students ahead of their own degree show next May.
Frederick Henri Kay Henrion (1914) was a German-born designer whose career took him from studying textile design in France, to working for the British Ministry of Information, to starting his own design consultancy working with top European companies.
The University of Brighton Archives are in possession of an extensive collection from Henrion’s career, consisting of original artwork, photography, examples of his poster and packaging design, alongside his personal library of books on graphic and industrial design, typography and advertising. Through this collection we have the unique experience of being able to delve into Henrion’s personal processes and inspirations.
