University of Brighton graduate, and creator of Snapkit, unlocks the potential of waste materials for creative play.
‘Hi I’m Max, I’m a Brighton based Maker and Designer. I created SnapKit, a small connector with a big idea: being creative can help the planet, and anyone can do it!
Using SnapKit, you can unlock the endless potential of your waste materials to invent, learn and play sustainably. Play shapes how people develop, but current toys made with linear production, exploitation and prohibitive costs can’t inspire us to create a better world. SnapKit can!
Inspiring tomorrow’s inventors
I developed SnapKit whilst studying at Brighton out of a desire to make creative play more accessible and inspire tomorrow’s inventors to build a brighter future! The always friendly Student Enterprise team, Beepurple team were super, giving me the confidence to turn my design project into a business, connecting me with experts and recommending funding to apply for.
The story so far
So far there are hundreds of budding inventors using Snapkit. I’ve worked with global brands like Hallmark and the Design Museum and am now partnering with a school to include it in their design education. Santander X’s generous support helped propel me along this journey with expert advice, funding and incredible networking opportunities.
Plus X accelerator
I’ve recently been working with the fantastic team at Plus X over the course of 2 months to de-risk and develop the product and business model on their pre-accelerator and prototyping programmes. Their expert help and guidance has unlocked more opportunities to connect with a broader audience, as well as helped me to define what I want out of building SnapKit so I can focus on that.
The future
With the continued support of all three organisations, I’m super excited to continue developing SnapKit and empower more people to imagine and build a brighter future. Check it out at SnapKit.co.uk or get in touch on Instagram @thesnapkit’
