Released on the 19th April 2019, Lil Dicky, used Twitter to promote his new song ‘Earth”. The song was written by Benjamin Levin, David Burd, Jamil Chammas, Josh Coleman and Magnus August Høiberg. Lyrics are sung by a star studded collection of popular and much loved individuals from the music industry. The song was released three days prior to ‘Earth Day’ and is a desperate appeal that reaches out to people, inspiring them to look after their planet until it is too late. I decided to incorporate this into my research as a side note as it is an example of how the music industry is using their power to influence their fans. It also is an example of how those in popular culture are understanding their is an environmental issue that needs t be addressed.
