Wellbeing Week 2022: Thursday – Connect

Having good relationships, friendships and social connections with others is a key part of wellbeing. There is strong evidence that feeling close and valued by others is a fundamental human need. For some of us this is very welcome and exciting, whereas for others, this can feel anxiety provoking and take some time to readjust to. Take your time and do what feels right for you and have a look at our suggestions below of different ways to connect with others.

Today’s Wellbeing Week events

  • Connect over Board Games – 9am-4:30pm free entry and no booking required. The Atrium, Checkland Building, Falmer. There will be a selection of board games for students to use with their friends or to make new friends.
  • Parklife BoxingParklife Just Learn Boxing – 10-11am for £2 – book via the Parklife sections of the Sport Brighton website or app. Moulsecoomb gym studio. Beginners boxing sessions run by fully qualified coaches. Wear comfy clothes.
  • Never OK – 12-2pm free entry and no booking required – Hillbrow Café, Eastbourne. Find out how you can get involved in the campaign and where you can get support if you have been affected by these behaviours.
  • Stanmer Park Wellbeing Walk – 2-4pm free entry, email to book your place. Meet in front of the Checkland building, Falmer campus. Departing from the Checkland building, we will cross over to the Sussex campus, take a circular route around Stanmer, stopping on the way back at the café for a free hot drink. A relaxed and friendly way to meet some colleagues across the university.
