Changes to building access arrangements – remember your unicard

As part of the continuing effort to keep staff and students safe during the Covid-19 pandemic, we will shortly be making some changes to building entry and exit arrangements across all of our campuses.

The changes will affect exterior building doors only and see an increased use of unicard secured entry/exit. This will mean:

  • Most external building doors will now be accessible for entry and exit only with a unicard ID badge
  • In line with one-way systems and local signage, some of these doors will now be set to allow exit only and some to allow entry only
  • All staff and students will need to ensure they have their ID badges with them to move around campuses
  • In the event of an emergency, all doors will automatically unlock and you should follow the normal emergency exit route.

These changes will be effective on all campuses from Monday 23 November.

Updating and replacing your unicard

Use the My Brighton app or website to access your unicard account where you can upload your latest photo identity, top-up your credit for purchasing at university shops and cafes, pay library fines and more.

If you have lost or damaged your unicard, you can order and buy a replacement at £5.00.
