The university’s wheelchair basketball team takes silver!
This weekend (7-8 March) saw the University of Brighton Wheelchair Basketball team make their debut at the second annual University Wheelchair Championships.
Twelve teams entered the competition, hosted by British Wheelchair Basketball, from around the country and travelled to Worcester. They beat off eleven other teams to make it to the final, narrowly losing to Nottingham Trent.
Teammate Ben Hadman said: “It was an incredible day and an amazing start to the University of Brighton and Parklife’s wheelchair basketball program.
“Our team captain Tom Smith was excellent, using every member of the team, and deservedly garnering interest from the GB scouts on site. The incredible atmosphere and excellent performance from the team made it a day to remember.”
