Five ways to make it through the festive season

Managing your uni work with party invitations, time with your family and a job can be really hard during the festive period.

Follow our tips to make things a bit easier.

Keep on top of things

Stay in control by keeping any paperwork together in folders so you don’t lose anything, it will make revising or writing assignments easier. You could download a blank timetable to help you organize your time and to remind yourself of important dates.

If you need a book or journal over the holidays, you don’t need to go into the library as the Online Library provides access to print and online resources.

Writers’ block

It’s never fun when your deadline is looming and the words just aren’t coming out. Take advice from our ASK (Academic Study Kit) on written assignments. Their advice includes help with planning essays and how to present your ideas. For more, head to this page.

Go to a workshop

We offer loads of workshops at each campus that are free for you to go to; make the most of them. Workshops can help you to improve your computer skills or with using research tools and referencing software.  See the full list of workshops and their locations here.

Talk to Student Services

They’re here to help you! Don’t be afraid to book an appointment with one of your campus’ advisors, it’s easy to get in touch with them. They can help with study issues, difficulties with your course and stress-related issues, and any other problems you might be having.
