Cafe’s:

Brighton is home to some of the best and most diverse food places in the UK, this is a list of my personal must try cafes and restaurants in Brighton!

Redroaster

At three different locations throughout Brighton, this cafe has some of the best brownies I’ve ever had, the rose and passionfruit “Brownie-O” is a must try treat. They also have a variety of other pastries and sweet treats, but if savouries are more your thing, they have an excellent breakfast and lunch menu with options to cater to all diets.

Kenny’s Rock and Soul Cafe

Found in the heart of the north laines, the eccentric interior is what drew me in, but the great food and drinks are what made me stay. Kenny’s serves up a wide variety of food from full-English breakfasts, pancakes and burgers to quesadillas, in my opinion the breakfasts are 10/10!

Garden Cafe

The Garden Cafe is exactly how it sounds, a garden in the city! Every table is surrounded by plants and lots of greenery making this easily one of the prettiest cafes I’ve been to in Brighton. Their lunch and brunch menus are delicious with loads of options for add-ons to make it your perfect plate.

Starfish and Coffee

Located opposite Queens Park, Starfish and Coffee is the perfect place to grab a cheeky iced latte before going for a walk in the park, or you can sit in and enjoy something from their brunch menu, my personal favourite is the avocado smash!

Brass Monkey

This is hands down my favourite place in all of Brighton to get an ice cream with unique flavours such as tonka bean, tea and biscuits, and even hay flavoured ice cream! They also have an array of cakes, bakes and serve up great coffee!

Restaurants:

Pompoko

It is no secret that Pompoko is one of the best and cheapest restaurants in Brighton, especially if you want something quick! They operate on a walk-in, cash-only basis and are relatively small so they do get full! If it looks busy, ask a server if they have space, as tables can become free quickly and they also have a top floor that is often missed! Be sure to head here early on to snag a table for some of the best authentic Japanese food in the city!

Cutie Pies & Fries

Found inside the Star and Garter pub, Cutie Pies & Fries has a small menu of Detroit style deep dish pizza that lives in my head rent free. Make sure to get some of the hot honey dip to drizzle on top of your pizza as well!

La Choza

La choza is the place to go for great mexican street food and margaritas. With a wide variety of street food each with lots of choice for filling, there’s definitely something here for everyone.

Shelter Hall

Located on the seafront, Shelter Hall is a seven-kitchen food hall with great food and even better views. Whether you’re looking for a burger or a bao shelter hall has it all, and you can enjoy it all on their stunning terrace.

Donatello’s

Donatello’s is a long-standing favourite of Brightonians and home to hands down one of the best tiramisus I’ve ever had. With generous portion sizes and great deals on food this is a definite must for students on a budget.

I hope you check out some of my recommendations and enjoy the delicious options Brighton has to offer!
