We meet, at last…
This is not a blind date setting. But it was probably equally exciting for us in the REDPOL team, as this was the first time (most of) all the collaborators from six institutions in France and the UK met in real life! So yes, after all these months only being able to see people as either a circle or a box (read: their picture in a virtual meeting. We don’t have a perfect circle or box head shape, I can confirm…), we finally met in person on 25-26 November in Portsmouth. Of course, this meeting was held carefully with strict COVID-19 measures in place.
(pictures will follow soon…)
There were a lot of things shared. Progress, findings, ideas, and more ideas (because why not..) were presented in these two days of meetings. A great deal of progress was achieved, although the activities in each partner institution are still ongoing. But more importantly, this event has developed a stronger connection between those of us who are involved in the project (for sure, at least for me..), which is essential in doing collaborative work. Time flies so fast in this kind of event, and we had to part ways on the second day (whilst Black Friday and storm Arwen were other major factors that day..).
See you soon in France!
