Nursing metaparadigms

The 4 metaparadigms form the discipline of nursing i.e. what nursing is concerned with:

  • nursing
  • human beings
  • health
  • environment

The metaparadigms were developed by Fawcett and continue to be the basis of nursing theory and therefore a nursing course.
