Feedback

Feedback for students will involve the following:

  • Named marker and date marked
  • Named moderator and date moderated
  • Reference to how well according to the university marking criteria the student achieved each learning outcome
  • 3 strengths of the students work
  • 3 areas for improvement including HOW to improve
  • Rationale for the mark using the university marking criteria
  • Rubric to provide a visual rationale for the mark (electronic submission only)
  • Quickmarks to highlight key areas of strength or limitations in the work (electronic submission only)

Examples of best practice:

  • structure feedback around how to improve the work
  • develop activities that encourage students to understand their feedback and how to implement it e.g. use of transition weeks
  • engage students with their feedback before getting their mark
  • maintain a 2-way dialogue between student and marker
