Tim Walker: Wonderful Things at The V&A

I really loved the Tim Walker exhibition more than I was expecting to, before going I didn’t really know that much of his work and I definitely wouldn’t have been able to recognise it as his own. The way the exhibition was curated with differently designed rooms and spaces to match the themes of the photographs within them was brilliant and definitely added another dimension to his work.

In my sketchbook, I have picked out his work that interests me the most in terms of their subject matter and composition. There were also a few examples in the exhibition that had ideas of memento mori in them, but below is the work that captured me the most. I have never realised that much of Tim Walkers work has been based on objects that he found in the V&A , but I think this is a great but simplistic idea, it also leads to a lot of imagination within his work as he interprets what he sees within each object.
