Mary Quant at The V&A

I decided to go to the Mary Quant exhibition while I was the V&A, mainly as I’m just interested in the sixties in general, the fashion, the photography happening at the time and I thought this exhibition may inspire me on those terms.

In turned out to not be so helpful for my project but I still had a good time looking around it. As to be expected there was nothing that could really be related to memento mori within Mary Qaunt’s designs and photographs. What I mainly took away from the exhibition was the sixties aesthetic, again black and white images were usually high contrast and I especially enjoyed the advertisements that were on display. The use of highly saturated and contrasted imagery with big bold typography is something that I like and potentially something I could carry through if I make a photobook for my FMP.
