About Us

We are the Dermal Drug Delivery and Diagnostics (4D) Laboratory, based at University of Brighton. Our core research programme concerns the research and development of drug delivery and diagnostic technologies for the skin. We are a member of the Biomaterials and Medical Devices Research Group and the Brighton Centre for Regenerative Medicine.

Doctoral Student
Email E.Skaria@brighton.ac.uk

Eldhose joined the group in 2014 to work on skin cancer diagnostics. He says, “The focus of my PhD is to develop an accurate and immediate diagnosis for cutaneous melanoma, by developing microneedle technology. Since my first taste of cancer biology during my undergraduate years, this field has really interested me in terms of recent advancements in diagnostic procedures and drug discovery. Therefore, despite having a degree in neuroscience and having interests within that field, cancer research became a specialist interest and now the theme for my PhD. The project is very engaging, as it has a real clinical focus and I aim to translate this research into a clinical tool for rapid diagnosis during my time at University of Brighton. I am thrilled about having a panel of experts as my supervisors in this field—Dr Keng Wooi Ng (Primary Supervisor), Dr Melanie Flint and Dr Bhavik Patel—and looking forward to an exciting 3 years of further education. Sports, music and socialising do take up the majority of my spare time, but I also leave a considerable amount of time for family.”
