Seagull Inktober Day 1

#Inktober Day 1

Rob is running an #Inktober activity this year for our School of Art, so I’m up for the challenge!

Day 1, and it happens I’ve got family round for lunch. So in order to earn their desert they are all encouraged to draw a seagull (Rob’s choice for Day 1 in his Brighton themed inspiration list). Of course I haven’t prepared for this, so don’t have any pens and pencils – we ended up using biros, which I don’t know if that was the kind of ink that is intended but hopefully in the spirit of the thing!

I love the fact even my mother-in-law overcame her “I can’t draw” to join in with us.

We came up with a good selection.

I was promptly informed I had drawn a very nice duck. Here he is, straight from the camera:

Later on, I watched Rob’s video of how he prepared the image in Photoshop, so I had a go at that as well, resulting in a slightly more colourful seagull duck.
