Booking.com is a travel metasearch engine. People who used their services before most likely will received some marketing emails from them. However, most of the people would decides to leave the emails in the inbox rather than open them. So in this blog we are going to examine the email from Booking.com critically.

Lets started from analyse their email.

  1. The email from Booking.com can be highly personalised.

From what I received, the email provides promotions and offers, for example cheap flight tickets and hotels. These promotions mostly based on the data about what you have recently or previously purchased from their service to provide a similar offers to you.

Not only that they will use your customer profile data, for example your age, behaviour, preferences and location to target and introduce offers to you in the email.

      2. the design and the structure of the email is important.

Booking.com created a really user-friendly email with many features that will bring and lead customer to the destination, which is what Booking.com trying to achieve from these marketing email, which is purchase a service. From the image shown above, the email offered many different locations with different price, which matched to customer’s similar preferences. When clicking in to one of the location, it will bring you straight to the booking website, with the destination selected and what customer needs to do is just selects their travel date.

Email critique

It is importance to have a good  and convenience functions included in the email as it can keep the customer using your services. Nowadays customer has many alternative to pick. For example, from a primary data source, it mentioned that email form Ryan air it does not included feature like Booking.com provided. It leads customer to the main website without anything related to the information customer seen in the email. Customer will lost their interest and will go to another alternative.

There are much more to consider when it comes to email marketing. More information needs to be considered when going into dept.
