I began to personify cow’s by combining the human body with a cow’s head. My idea stemmed rom the fact that in the photograph, the young girl seems to be handling the animal as if it was a pet. I then began to play with the idea of a cow being a domestic pet to create humorous, quirky illustrations of these being’s in a domestic setting such as lying on the sofa, eating, smoking, reading and using a mobile phone. When i completed these drawings i made a collage of them and thought of the concept of a woman being referred to as a ‘cow’ in a derogatory manner, i’ve decided to explore this concept further by manipulating my original drawings.
