Jenny’s thesis is titled: ‘Women’s Decisions to Exercise in Pregnancy: Negotiating Conflicting Identities.’ The study adopted a constructivist grounded theory approach to develop a theoretical insight into the factors which influence women’s decisions to exercise in pregnancy. The key finding was that decisions are influenced by the identity conflict arising be-tween the desire to maintain the existing exercising-self while constructing the pregnant-self. The findings are summarised on the study website.
