An innovation into sustainable fashion and community appeal

Our Concept

Our concept aims to minimise fashion and textile landfill waste through the creation of a digital platform which will make upcycling and mending more widely available to the general public. We will do this through offering local landfill waste to those who want to upcycle and repair their clothing in order to prolong the garments life. In addition to this, it will provide a service to those without the time or resources to be involved in garment repair to send off their clothing for rejuvenation to minimise the purchase of brand new garments. This will be done via Royal Mail as they are currently the postal service with the least carbon emissions. To additionally target those interested, we will offer workshops with our transferable skills to create opportunities for communities in need of something new and if that’s not possible, garments that are too good for textile reproduction will be given to those in our local community who would benefit from fresh slow fashion garments.
