Talk: License to Play
Summary: I am a game designer for River Horse, a company with years of experience in designing games based on intellectual properties (IPs) aimed at a wide variety of audiences from Terminator to My Little Pony. I will be introducing you to the world of IP licensing from a tabletop perspective, including what parts of an IP to look for in creating a game, and how to follow through in transforming narratives into game mechanics. I will touch on publishing, asset requirements, and the drawbacks of licensed games, as well as answer any questions you might have on licensing as well as the tabletop industry (that’s board games, miniatures games, and role-playing games) in general.
Teams on Wednesday 6 April at 1-2pm
