Walk, Look, Talk Workshop for MA Fine Art Students

The MA Fine Art students participated in a workshop called ‘Walk Talk Look’ by Newhaven collective ‘Edgeland Modern’. The students explored the views around Newhaven, made drawings in specially made sketchbooks and heard about the history of the places, industries, artists and writers around Newhaven. During the workshop we stopped to view and hear about ‘Following Ravilious – Newhaven Views’ the giant billboards by Creative Newhaven and produced by Towner Gallery, featuring artworks by 20th century artist Eric Ravilious next to artworks by contemporary artists Emily Allchurch, Jo Lamb, Charlie Prodger and Mark Titchner. We were joined by Nick Stockman and Liz Rose from Creative Newhaven who provided insights to the art works.

We finished our walk by viewing the exhibition ‘Border: After Ravilious’ by Edgeland Modern artists Rachael Adams & Robert Littleford at Marine Workshops: Newhaven.

It is a great exhibition and it’s surrounded by amazing views of the area from the top floor.

Thank you Edgeland Modern artists Pat Thornton, Rachael Adams and Robert Littleford for the inspiring walk and exhibition.

Thank you to Creative Newhaven for the opportunity to attend the workshop.
