This session will cover what being ‘a freelancer’ means, featuring your tutors from GB MET and the School of Art and Media. They will be sharing their insights on how they got started in self-employment as well as the benefits and the challenges of going freelance.

Learn about the importance of marketing your product and yourself, building a brand and how to make yourself commercially viable.

Featuring Jamie Trowell from Tax Ninja, who supports creative freelancers with the practical side of self-employment. This session is essential to all budding freelancers for an overview in your financial responsibilities and making sure your taxes are straight with HMRC.

Applying for Funding as a creative
Join Lou Rodgers for expert advice on how to apply for that all important Arts Council funding for your freelance projects. Tips will include what details you must include in your application to increase your chance of success.
