NQT News

Ongoing contacts with our NQTs and their headteachers show that the vast majority of schools are delighted with the high quality of teachers trained by the partnership. Lizzie for blog

One such NQT, Elizabeth Owen,  graduated from our Secondary Geography PGCE. Elizabeth recently received two ‘outstanding’ graded lesson observations.

The Ofsted inspectors who carried out the observations were keen to find out where she was trained. Despite only being in her NQT year Elizabeth is now mentoring other teachers to help them also teach outstanding lessons.

Towards the end of the summer term, the partnership will be contacting all schools known to have employed NQTs this year to invite them to complete our NQT Headteachers Survey, so that we can use this data to improve our ITE provision and support for next year’s NQTs.

Meanwhile, we are keen to receive news from any of our NQTs or Early Practitioners through our dedicated NQT e-mail address NQTEPvoice@brighton.ac.uk .  You can also use this address to request bespoke intervention and support for NQTs/Early Practitioners to achieve our aspiration for all teachers trained by the partnership to become outstanding teachers.
