Digital Finance specializes in financial technologies (fintech) and their impact on the financial services sector and related stakeholders for economic sustainability and increased financial inclusion. It aims to be a hub for fintech research across payments, deposits & lending, open banking, insurance, trade, capital raising and wealth management domains with particular emphasis on blockchain, cryptocurrencies, big data, mobility, AI and regulations.
We focus on building an understanding of how new technologies and regulations are reshaping the financial services business models and their impact on (i) economic aspects of sustainability (ii) firm performance, (iii) financial literacy, and (iv) financial inclusion.
Academic research that integrates finance, technology and human/organizational behaviour with an inter-disciplinary perspective covering digital transformation strategy, innovation, technology adoption and financial decision-making by incumbent financial services institutions, fintech companies as well as end-users are priority areas.
