Experimentation with light

My first step in experimentation was testing how light can have an effect when photographing subjects as well as how it could be used to reinvent images heavily inspired by photographer Glen Erler. The first images were taken in my flat at dusk after a relatively bright day, just as the sun began to go down – I discovered that this was the best time to take photos for the Glen Erler inspired shoot. The main objective was to find the areas of the flat where most light hit in each room, the corners of light versus the parts that were in the dark. I was looking for this contrast as in Erler’s photography the subject is almost always submerged into the shadow with the contrast of bright light or sunlight nearby them. This adds to the emotion of the images, the subject is portrayed very much isolated from everyone and everything else.
