Monday 8th March Development Chat

On Monday we spoke together about plans to progress the project and what we need to look at to progress.

Speaking with Sophie we spoke about the lookbook plans and creating something that sort of mimics the weather theme and the idea of using physical weather in some way. Interactive/ 4D weather, looking at Alexander McQueen ‘Golden Showers’ as a reference and the idea of having physical rain in the lookbook. The only concern is that this could play into the overtly sexualised look which I’m not sure if we are going for. We also discussed looking at the initial umbrella and incorporating that someway. We want to look at backdrops and greenscreen in our project so Sophie is going to try and take some photos in the island shes going to in Bali as it could be really interesting to play around with these backdrops.

Chatting with Lily and we spoke about the audience further and how Burberry is international and expanding particularly in China. We spoke about how we could appeal to this market/ if it would work with our brand/ line of clothing.  We also spoke about promotional content and creating a way to promote it that is heavily on instagram, maybe ident videos?

We really liked the cut out style of these Charlotte Knowles looks and how the models look kind of like avatars/ dolls? Lily brought up this editorial called Deconstruction and the idea of dolls/ a digital wardrobe. We are slightly worried about how the overall lookbook will look as the clothes aren’t real however, by combining this and the green screen idea I think we’ll be able to create something comical and purposeful in image and construction.
