You will work to support the development of a research funding application led by researchers from the Centre for Design History and the University of Brighton Design Archives.

Hours/rate of pay

30 hours, as required/by agreement, working remotely or at Mithras House (Moulsecoomb) or Grand Parade (City Campus), between late April and end July 2024.

£15.39 per hour

Main responsibilities:

You will carry out research as required to support the project’s scoping and development, such as literature reviews, research collation and presentation, across the following fields:

*Institutes of design/archives/design history in Brazil, Macau and the UK

*New methods in digital archives & collections/heritage (AI, Machine learning etc).

*Decolonial thinking & practice in archive studies & museum studies

*Potential partners in these regions

Skills/knowledge/experience desired or needed:

The role would suit a current Doctoral candidate

*Postgraduate research experience and/or expertise in at least one of the following: archives / design history / decoloniality / museums, heritage and collections

*Written communication skills to document and share information accurately, clearly and concisely.

*Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams).
