The PGR Creative Methods Group would like to invite you to join us for another vibrant symposium on creative research methods on Mon 16th January 14:00-15:30 on Microsoft Teams (use this code to join: 6r81bq6). This session features:

  • Mike Phillips, University of Brighton – ‘Creative Consent for Creative Methods: Creating Consent with Participants’

Mike will explore how the consent process of research can be creative as well as the methods. Mike will talk about his research on support for non-binary young people and the creative methods he is using to ensure consent for this.

  • Gemma Cook, Brunel University – ‘Understanding Policy Experiences of Adults Living with Cerebral Palsy Using Art as Method’

Gemma will provide a brief overview of her methodology and share the art outputs from her research, which include a spoken word performance piece and a poetry film.

The group is supported by the Centre for Arts and Wellbeing. It is open to all who share our passion for creative methods and our desire to provide a supportive, stimulating space within which to explore these. No advance sign-up is required; just turn up on the day if you wish to join us. Participants external to the University of Brighton will need to email Helen in advance of the session to be added to the Team as a guest.
