Schools project workshop 2022

The Fine Art Printmaking Schools Project

The Fine Art Printmaking Schools Project ran online last year, due to Covid-19.  We are happy to report that this project went ahead again this year, face-to-face in local schools – which was wonderful for our second year Printmaking students and the pupils alike. Local schools involved were BACA and PACA, with the Widening Participation team deciding to focus on more local provision again.  There will be a final workshop at the University Print Workshop in June, where pupils from the schools can experience relief printing in the workshop here, have lunch and look at the degree show.Schools project workshop 2022

Feedback from the Teacher at PACA:

Hi all,

I wanted to say thank you so much for coming to visit PACA this week! The students had a great time, and really enjoyed learning new techniques. It was a really inspiring few days, and it would be great to see if we can do another workshop in the summer term and see some of the degree work 🙂

All the best

Jennifer

A new development this year, which a generous philanthropic gift has enabled, will be an additional day at Willingdon School, where Printmaking alumni Denise Aguiar is now on the art teaching team. This workshop is still to be scheduled, but should have Zoe Pritchard leading the session along with a group of interested Printmaking students from across the second and third year.

This additional small project will allow L6 students who delivered online last year to opt in to a ‘face-to-face’ experience in a schSchools project workshop 2022ool, and for L5 students who enjoyed the Widening Participation project to build on their experience and professional practice. A wonderful development for us! And one that we hope to continue to nurture and build upon.
