My work is centred around creating narratives and story-telling, heavily influenced by my obsession with collecting found objects and ephemera.
I am constantly researching and gaining inspiration from a variety of films and books that are focused on voyeurism, villains and crimes of passion, one of my favourite directors is David Lynch. Outside of university I am continually creating work based on these topics and hope to sell artwork inspired by these themes.
How have you found your time at Brighton?
As a mature student I thought it would be harder going to university at 26 but I have not regretted it for a moment. Although a lot has happened in the last three years that has meant university life has been extremely challenging at times, the support network from my course has been invaluable. I have loved studying at Brighton. Some of my favourite parts of the university are the library, the printing studio and book binding workshop – Helen is a sweetheart!
What are your plans after graduating?
After graduation I am hoping to go onto studying an MA at Brighton.
