Multimedia Broadcast Journalism student Aishah Rahman told us how she has benefitted from the opportunities the course has offered. “This course makes you feel like a real-life working journalist – and on graduating you can essentially go into any aspect of media. The radio module where different members of the class presented and produced the radio bulletins was really exciting and I’ve really enjoyed media law and regulation, when we had the chance to attend court and listen to cases.
With the help of the university’s placements team I got a six-week paid internship at a media PR company, which I loved. I gained some great work experience – I got to take over the social media pages for clients, create social media challenges for business launches and write articles. I also had the opportunity to be involved with the Brighton Digital Festival, which was great, and one of my proudest achievements has been getting my work published in the Brighton and Hove Independent.”
