Vice Chancellor shortlisted for Guardian inspirational leader award

The University of Brighton’s Vice-Chancellor Debra Humphris has been shortlisted for the Inspiring Leader Award at the Guardian’s Higher Education Award.

The award will go to someone who “champions innovation and collaboration,” and delivers meaningful change for their institution.

Since taking the role of Vice-Chancellor in 2015, Debra was elected to chair the Universities UK Student Policy network in 2017, and was returned in March 2018 to serve a further three years. She also Chair’s the UCEA Clinical Academic Staff Advisory Group, as well as being a member of the Coast to Capital LEP Board and is Treasurer to University Alliance. Debra is an openly LGBT senior leader in higher education, and is passionate about equality, inclusivity and diversity.
