Grand Parade Gallery is hosting the work of sculptor Cathie Pilkington RA as part of Brighton Festival.
Cathie Pilkington RA: The Life Rooms is the festival’s main exhibition in collaboration with Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.
University of Brighton Interior Architecture, Fine Art: Sculpture and History of Art and Design students have been working with the artist and curator to develop the exhibition, build the space and learn new processes and professional practices. Students visited Cathie Pilkington’s studio in London and the historic life drawing room at the Royal Academy.
Provocative and ambiguous, Cathie Pilkington’s sculptures make use of dolls in unexpected and challenging ways.
The free exhibition runs from May 6 – 27.
