Design and Craft student Morris Winby has been awarded 2nd place in London’s highly competitive Young Furniture Makers Exhibition.
The event took place on October 2nd and featured numerous young designers showcasing their projects, with many being nominated in their assigned categories.
Morris, a Level 6 3D Design and Craft student at Brighton, received 2nd place in the coveted Best Chair in Show category for his creation, which he developed during Level 5 of the course last year. His innovative design caught the judges’ attention, demonstrating both creativity and craftsmanship.
The Best Chair in Show category recognises the most outstanding chairs exhibited at the exhibition and is exclusively open to furniture designer-makers who are in full-time education, have studied in a private or commercial furniture designer-maker course, or have recently completed a further or higher education course. This recognition highlights the importance of nurturing young talent in the field of furniture design.
Morris’s achievement not only reflects his hard work and dedication but also showcases the high standard of education offered at Brighton. His success is a real inspiration to fellow students and aspiring designers, encouraging them to push boundaries and explore their creative potential.
