22nd October

What an exciting event the Mayoral procession was as it wound its way through the streets of Cuckfield and we were there as a supportive presence. The Monday morning volunteer group liberated the ancient and historic tool cart from the shed and decorated it with two beech saplings, some fern plants and a few logs. Our banner displaying our name and beautiful logo framed the screen to perfection. We wore very fetching tabards with our Woodlanders logo on the back and we gave out leaflets throughout the village advertising the wood and asking for donations to help with our running costs. Afterwards the cart was donated to the local scout group in order to continue its loyal service. Thank you Ken for the pints of shandy afterwards. It was back to hard work on Monday morning and the two beech saplings were replanted in a much more suitable place.
