Online resources available

NATE have made a range of teaching resources and publications available online for staff and students.

These include teaching resources for Macbeth and 19th century literature. The Spring 2020 issue of Primary Matters and Teaching English have also been made available. And there are some KS3 packages.

CLPE are also sharing their Power of Pictures resources which give children the opportunity to explore their creativity through drawing.  The Power of Pictures website contains a range of videos with authors/illustrators reading their books aloud.

The British Library have a new website for primary schools called Discovering Children’s Books, which is another valuable resource.

These journals which are relevant for teaching English are available through the Online Library:

  • Literacy (UKLA)
  • Journal of Research in Reading (UKLA)
  • English in Education (NATE)

And we have an online subscription to emagazine for secondary teaching. (email us for the log in details if you have forgotten them)

There are also links to ebooks available at the bottom of the library’s webpage. You will need to sign in to access them.

Please do get in touch with us (curriculumcentre@brighton.ac.uk) if you need any help with finding or accessing online resources.

And we will continue to post information on our blog relating to teaching resources/children’s literature during the coming weeks.
