EMBROIDERY ARTISTS

 

Since I have done the small embroidery work, my tutors mentioned two embroidery artists.

Tilleke’s works look like the stitched version of the sketchbook. All of the writings and drawing are done by the embroidery, which makes those marks very delicate and sophisticated.

I think it will be great to mix my drawings and stitches together, and make them work as one piece, not separately.

Andrea’s works are more like something graphic. Simple diagrams and sentences create a neat and clear atmosphere. It doesn’t mean that it is not delicate or sophisticated.

I really enjoyed the humour in her work as well. They even sounds quite cruel, despite of their cute typefaces.

Also the limits of colours are quite noticeable in her works. It helps the informations to be taken a lot easier and faster.
