 The Japanese word shirokuma means polar bear. This is a company selling rice. The designer smartly used the colour of the polar bear, and the shape of rice to create cute rice shaped polar bears.
  

The logo is appropriate for the packaging, since it has got a simple shape, it is easy to be read. Also, in money wise, it only needs 2 colour, black and white, it is a lot cheaper than any coloured logos to print out.

Watching those cute rice polar bears, people want to purchase their products, and at the same time, they are relieved, they can have a break from the cold and cruel real life.
