MAKING THE BOX

MAKING THE BOX

I painted the night sky to make a box for my props. When I tried to paint the boards, they went bent and the colours appeared as really light, so I just painted the paper instead and then glue them to the boards.

Also, as those paintings are the background, I tried not to put too much details on them. However, I still thought it would be better to draw few tress on them so that it can look like a real forest.

By trying several materials like the coloured pencils, markers, oil pastels and so on, I really enjoyed the abstract and unpredictable marks made by the watercolour, so I just used it.

I remember I have used the toothbrush to paint the starts at the night sky when I was in my primary school, so I tried the same technique. It worked quite well.

Then I glued them together as a box shape. It was quite hard to attach them together, they kept falling apart. However, I have managed this!

I have painted some abstract marks on the back of each boards, which represents the scent I was able the smell at that time. This idea was from Esther’s workshop.
