PARK GUELL

PARK GUELL

Park Güell was built between 1900 and 1914. It is the reflection of Gaudí’s artistic plenitude, which belongs to his naturalist phase.

I visited Park Guell early in the morning, so I was able to see the sunrise there. Those pastel-like colours, powdery pink and purple, made by the rising sun at Park Guell made me feel like I was dreaming. I thought these colours can be used in my project. I think water colour would be a great material for this project as well, since it makes quite abstract and blurry marks.

The two remarkable buildings made me think of the a large cottage built of gingerbread, cakes, candy and with window panes of clear sugar in the famous fairy tale, “Hansel and Gretel”

The park was  just a perfect example of the harmony between the nature and the architectures by human beings. Like most of Gaudi’s works, it has got curves, but no straight lines.
