JAMES JARVIS

There was a talk by James Jarvis on 25th January 2017.

He is an illustrator and toy designer based in England. He finished BA Illustration at the University of Brighton in 1993, and then an MA at the Royal College of Art in 1995.

It was interesting to see how illustration can be involved in a variety of medias. From drawing to 3D toys, his works have got the strong characteristics. Sometimes his artworks look all the same, but there are different details. His bright coloured paintings reminded me of that of Keith Haring’s.

He worked with several Japanese companies, and he said he really enjoyed it. He also worked with China and Hong Kong based companies as well.
