MORE PLANTS

After the tutorial, I decided to carry on my cactus image makings, so I went to find more plants, which I can use as the reference.

I found those little cactuses at Borough Market. They were all in the colour green, which I didn’t like that much.

There was an interesting installation at Tate Modern. this space looked like a small desert for me. When I think about the desert, it reminds me not only of cactuses, but also of the journey. Straying in the endless desert, trying to find the oasis.

That also looks like our life as well. We don’t know our destinations, we just keep going, staring, wandering to the end of our lives.

I thought I can carry on my project using cactuses to link those ideas.

A money tree!

I tried to produce more cactuses. This time, I used watercolour, and also painted in tiny scales, which I found myself enjoying doing. I think I will do some collages using those tiny cactuses, what I enjoyed while making the felt version.

I was trying to avoid drawing of painting, and made the restriction on them, but I found myself not enjoying doing the project, so I just let myself free.
