THE PAINTING POTTERY CAFE

THE PAINTING POTTERY CAFE

This Wednesday, Sarah and I went to the Painting Pottery Cafe to do the pottery workshop. I thought it would be great to try something I haven’t done before.

This place was full of those potteries made from the clay. The ground floor was the place to painting potteries, and the basement was the place to make potteries.

After wearing our aprons, the technician showed us how to use the wheel, and make the clay into the form that we want to make.

There was two important things, one was that you should keep the clay moisturising while you are handling the clay, and the other one was that you should give the same pressure when you are making the shape. Otherwise, it will end up with an uneven pottery.

I made a small pot and a plate, and Sarah made as jug and pot.

We should be back in 3 weeks to paint them after baking. I am really looking forward to painting them.
